The Importance of the Daily Ritual!

For those who live with the purpose driving mindset then everything matters…including how you start your day.

Every professional or guru in the industry will stress the importance of having a scripted, determined path onto which you enter into your day.

Why?

Because without it you are subject to an epic fail…and if you are like those I run with failure is not an option.

1. Sleep…

In the event you have not heard this information before or perhaps not in a while let’s review the kind of schedule that can help lead you into success…and it begins the night before.

Huh?

Yep…go to bed, it’s that simple. Apparently the medical and scientific world is just now catching on to the vital necessity and dretemental affects of lack of sleep. The consequences of poor quality sleep is too numerous to go into in this post but you don’t need someone to explain this to you…I’m sure.

It’s been found that the best quality sleep is between the hours of 10:00pm and 6:00am. Even skewing those times by a little bit can drastically change how you feel upon waking. So consider that an important factor in getting shut down at night.

Now keep in mind my message is not for everyone. If the thought of going to bed that early and missing reruns of the Simpsons upsets you then we are definitely not in the same game here. I’m talking to people who understand and are on a mission to accomplish the impossible in their lives. The people to whom, purpose…passion and provision mean everything! Okay now that we’re clear on that let’s move on shall we?

2. Pray…

For those of with a Kingdom mindset it is just ‘understood’ that the path to everyday leads through time in prayer. Connecting with God…His presence…remembering whose you are and your purpose is imperative.

Some people in this industry are a tad bit ‘afraid’ to talk about these topics because it’s not politically correct. You will hear people teach you to speak or declare things into existence. Well I agree with them on one point…what you say out of your mouth has life altering power. Declare over yourself and your family the things that line up with God’s Word and the personal promises He has made to you individually.

3. The Word…

One night while sitting in church waiting for the service to begin the Lord spoke something to me that I will never forget. He said simply, “There is power in just reading My Word.” It wasn’t until later that I understood what He meant more fully. God’s Word is SO powerful that by just reading it and getting inside you can alter the course of your life. The cool thing you don’t have to understand it…you don’t need a degree…just find the version you like and read it…every day!

The Word is ‘so’ powerful that even those who don’t believe who have read and studied it have experienced life changing benefits.

4. Exercise…

You might wonder what the heck does exercise have to do with my success? Well once you ‘get it’ you realize that by keeping in shape and exercising you are actually preparing yourself to be productive. By keeping physically fit you increase your productivity manyfold.

This is not about vanity this is about positioning yourself to win and hopefully help many others win along the way.

5. Food

Well Don’t think I need to say it but if your breakfast consists of doughnuts and juice…you are setting yourself up to lose in just about every arena of life. A lot of people go to extremes of eating only raw or drinking only juice and if you’re doing that and you love it and it fits into your lifestyle then absolutely that is awesome.

Many people are suffering today from all the ‘health’ information out there and the low-fat era has created a nation of fat people. At one time in my life I lost over 100 pounds and I did it eating my mothers cooking which was the fattest, best tasting, awesome food on the planet. The only thing I cut out during that time was sugar for the most part…desserts. The reason I was able to lose eating cooked in real butter, cream, bacon, eggs is because of the fat and again I’ve ready many articles recently to back this up.

6. Follow the list…

One habit I’ve found to be one of the most valuable to me is I’ve always been a list maker. Regardless of wheter it’s business or personal from going to the grocery to creating a post it’s all on the list. If you have ever found yourself going thru the day trying to ‘juggle’ everything you need to do, want to do, thinking about who you need to connect with, the birthday card you need to send, the appointment you need to keep then you understand the importance of the list.

Write it down, write everything down. It does not matter if you don’t get it all done that is not the point. The purpose of the list is to help get that stuff out of your head so you can focus on the tasks at hand and be productive. It also helps prevent you forgetting things of vital importance that could cause you great frustration if not done…like remembering your anniversery…just sayin!

Okay well we’re well rested, we’ve entered into our morning keeping our priorities straight by communicating to God in prayer,we exercised, we fed our bodies good food and our spirits the Word, our list is made, now there is only one thing left to do…go for it!

Ya’ll Be Blessed!
